FinDev Guide to Data - Tracking the Global Response to COVID-19

Data relevant for microfinance and financial inclusion
FinDev Gateway Data Tracker

Many organizations are mobilizing resources to track various responses to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The majority of the new data sources and trackers these organizations produce focus on publicly available information about fiscal, monetary, and regulatory responses to COVID-19. The relevance of this information to microfinance and financial inclusion varies. To help our community navigate this complex web of data, we are listing most important sources and trackers by the level of their relevance to the sector:

  • Relevant: Tracks specific indicators related to microfinance and financial inclusion especially in the context of crises.
  • Partially Relevant: Provides information that may be relevant to the microfinance sector and financial inclusion. Key indicators focus on broad policy measures or market responses; users must scan datasets to find relevant information.
  • Useful for Broader Context: Does not directly relate to microfinance or financial inclusion but may be useful in a broader context to answer research questions.

We will regularly update this FinDev Guide as more data becomes available. Please let us know if you spot similar trackers by posting a link in the comments section below or send us a quick note and, if relevant, we'll add it to this list.
